Are you looking for an opportunity to support people living with dementia to participate in meaningful, specific support and activities in a day care setting?
Totara Club is a dementia day care provide on the North Shore Auckland which was established to provide an opportunity for people living with a diagnosis of early to moderate dementia to come together and spend time in a safe supportive environment.
We are looking for someone to join our team part time/job share - 40 hours per fortnight plus cover for team members as and when required.
This role is varied and unique as you will be responding to the needs of the members as well as supporting other team members. You will assist members to participate in an interactive programme of choice and ability which can help to maintain and improve their social, cognitive, physical, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing. You will also provide support in the preparation of the midday meal.
Totara Club is often a fast-paced environment, so you need to be energetic, be practical, have a commitment to processes and procedures, and be able to show initiative.
You | Mōu:
The ideal applicant will be a calm, caring, and conscientious person who works well with others. They will need excellent listening and communication skills and a willingness and interest in supporting people living with dementia. They will have a person-centered approach and align with Equip’s values.
- Relevant experience in dementia or disability work would be an advantage.
- You will need to have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
- You will receive a thorough induction and on-going training.
- Most importantly, we are looking for a team player with a can-do and resilient attitude.
