Community Support Worker

We usually respond within a day
As a Community Support Worker with Equip no two days are the same. You will be working with our service users to develop and implement health and wellbeing plans that ultimately help achieve greater independence in our community. Support hours are Monday to Friday with some flexibility.
Skills and Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A clean full NZ drivers licence
- It would be an advantage to speak te reo Māori.
- A commitment to Tikanga Māori and incorporating these values and philosophy into your work.
- NZ resident or a valid NZ work visa
- Ability to build rapport and empathise with people from diverse backgrounds
- Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent qualification.
Qualifications are preferred but not essential when starting the role.
Equip will support you to complete the specific qualification in New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Mental Health and Addiction Support). This qualification would need be completed within 2 years of employment and will give you specific skills and knowledge required to be an effective support worker.

About the Role
A CSW works in partnership with the other person on goals leading to a satisfying life. You’ll work autonomously with service users living in the community in the North Shore, West Auckland and Rodney areas. The work entails helping service users reach identified goals and maximise strengths.
Hours: Mainly from Monday to Friday with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the service users.
Having advanced skills and qualifications in the field of alcohol and drugs would be an additional advantage.
